My High school Latin teacher, Mr Lyle, had one...used to get rides from him on the way to school once inna while. White car, with red interior...Guy who did some work for us a few years ago had as '61 Rampside truck...it's been a on going restoration project for him - he uses it as his everryday transportation...

MY Dad had one....I think 1964.....and he flipped it !

I had a 1963 two door model. Got it in 1966, it would over heat all the time. The engine fan just blew up on my way to work one day.. smoke coming through the vets, pieces came flying out when the back lid was opened. Such a safe car...LOL

My father bought one in 1960. It leaked oil from the day he pulled into the driveway. As he explained it, they never perfected the "pancake 6" engine. Also of note: these are the cars in the series "Ultraman"

The 1960-63 Corvair was a major subject of Ralph Nader's 1965 book, "Unsafe at Any Speed".
