Candy? I don't think so... but I've added 'em.

Well, you know, where else would they be? After we got tired of them, we chewed on them. They tasted good, but we didn't actually eat them. Thanks for adding them, Duff.

Derek - I've been unable, so far, to locate any information about some of the products you've mentioned. Were they fairly local to your area? If you have any material you could send me, or links you know about where info and photos can be found, please let me know.

I guess you mean Pillsbury's Space Food Sticks. I don't remember them, but see plenty of references on the web. I'll add them here shortly.

Does anyone remember Butoni Toasted Pizza's. It was a shell (almost pita enlosed circle with sauce and cheese), you put in toaster and warmed it up. Usually to hot to hold with your hand and eat like a sandwich so you would wrap a napkin around it and it... Mostly hot and cold spots within. One bite cold, the next burned your tongue. We loved them anyway!

I recall the BuItoni brand name, but that's all. Then there was Ronzoni, which still exists, I believe. Remember their ad slogan? I don't speak Italian, but I think it was something like, "Ronzoni è sono buoni -- Ronzoni is so good!"

I remember those Toaster Pizzas. I really didn't like them at all, but always ate them.
They were way too hot, yet the cheese never melted.
I bet they would sell big today!

In the 'retro' candy department-does anyone remember "SNAPS" They were short pieces of licorice that had a candy coating (like a shell). Seems I remember them being in an all red box with white lettering and I definetly remember the price (it was printed on the box) - 2 cents

Snaps? Sounds sorta like Good & Plenty...

Does anyone remember a fruity taffy-like candy from the 60s called a Big Boogie? I saw them for sale in the Missouri area when I was on vacation with my family around 1965 but couldn't eat them because I was wearing braces. Later when I told people back home (in PA) about them, they told me I was crazy--that nobody would give a candy that name.

White Castle hamburgers.... a bag of 12 = $1. (late 50's)

They have them frozen on the west coast, but nothing would beat the store in Nungessers, NJ..

White Castles were 5¢ when I started buying them. When they went up to 7¢ in the mid-60s, everyone screamed murder. I would steal money from my mother's purse and tear across Bruckner Blvd. in the Bronx and get a sack of these. I'd sit along the highway and fall into a coma as I ate these. Somehow, I could fit at least ten of them in my stomach but I'd be miserable all day from it. And I was a tiny, skinny thing then.
